Through visual and sound elements, often tactile and sometimes even olfactory, you can be immersed in an interactive environment creating a sense of reality in which you are a participant, making you temporarily forget the real world!  Whether it’s virtual reality simulations, interactive shows, art installations or escape games, many attractions offer to transport you into a fictional or thematic universe.  Here are a few suggestions for discovering another way to stimulate the senses, imagination and emotion this winter, while staying warm!

Centre Phi – Immersive experience (PA)

  • Immersive experiences, virtual reality, art exhibitions, varied and evolving programming.
  • Accessibility: The Centre PHI immersive experience offers a wheelchair loan service at the entrance, as well as canes or walking sticks to help maintain balance during the experience. Free companion tickets are available at the reception desk.

  • Ambulatory immersive experience (with virtual reality goggles) – 45 minutes – Opens February 19, 2025
  • Accessibility: The specific parameters of the experience require the exclusive use of manual wheelchairs, as motorized wheelchairs may compromise the safety of other visitors. Free tickets for accompanying adults available.

AURA ExperienceBasilique Notre-Dame de Montréal (PA)

  • Immersive light experience (sound and light) – Three acts – Total duration 25 minutes.
  • Accessibility: Preferential seating reserved for people with reduced mobility.

Montreal’s Science Centre (A)

  • Interactive feature exhibition Banquet – until March 16, 2025.
  • Permanent exhibitions: Mini Mondo, Explore – Life-Sized Science, Human, Water in the Universe, Fabrik² – Creativity Factory.
  • Accessibility: The Montréal Science Centre is equipped with two hygiene rooms with changing tables for adults. A number of adapted equipment is also available, as is a guide to accompanying people with special needs.

Multimedia Show Generations MTL – Pointe-à-Callière (PA)

  • Multimedia projection – 30 minutes.
  • Accessibility: The establishment accepts the Carte accompagnement loisir (CAL) and wheelchairs are available on site.

OASIS immersion Palais des congrès de Montréal (A)

  • Walking museum experience – Three immersive galleries – 2 light and sound experiences: Nature Vive (Biodiversity), Van Gogh Distortion – until February 16, 2025.

  • Immersive experience by Moment Factory (1 of 3 parts, only the part at Refuge Pageau is open in winter)
  • Accessibility: The site has trails adapted for people with disabilities, and is accessible to wheelchairs, strollers and even sledges in winter (equipment available free of charge on request).

Laval

Cosmodôme (PA)

  • 3 virtual mission courses (films and interactive games) – 60 minutes per course. Cosmo Mission, 4D Experience and training simulators.
  • Accessibility: Wheelchairs are available at reception.

Escaparium Laval (PA)

  • 9 escape games (puzzles to solve) – 3 to 8 players depending on the game – Different levels of difficulty/physical level/scary factor – 60 to 120 minutes depending on the game.
  • Accessibility: A perfect group activity, given that the game rooms are dark and require assistance (some sections are not accessible or restricted to wheelchair users). However, you can participate with your team in several games, and the toilets and resto-pub are accessible.

  • Virtual reality skydiving simulation – Freefall in vertical wind tunnels.
  • Accessibility: Specialized leg support equipment is available on request. It is important to mention your needs to the staff when booking.
